Indian Human Hair
Hair plays a vital role in enhancing the overall beauty of face. In India, men and women use natural products for hair treatment. For cleaning and beauty purpose, people often use different types of chemicals (shampoo) but these chemicals are less used in India as compare to other countries. Indian hairs are natural, strong and durable and can be easily colored, curled, heated and blow-dried. The products made from Indian hair are quite expensive as it sold between $1000 to $3000. Hair is categorized into grades like for black and longer than 16 inches hair is considered of highest quality. Second quality is the black hair in length between 8 and 16 inches than black hair shorter than 8 inches. The other two categories are the lowest and consist of grey and other colored hair. Following are the categories of hair: - The kind that is black and longer than 6 inches is the most sought after. This "remy" or "black gold" category sells for as much as $160 per kilogram
- The second category of black hair, between 8 and 16 inches long, sells for around $44 a kilogram
- The third category of black hair, shorter than 8 inches, sells for under a dollar a kilogram
- The fourth and fifth categories are gray hair shorter than 8 inches, which sell for about 10 cents a kilogram.
Once the hair is procured from authentic vendors, they are re-sort into straight, wavy, silky and curly hair. After that hair is shampooed, dried in sun and combed. The demand of human hair is increasing day by day. Till 2000 the sale of hair annually was between Rs. 100 to Rs. 150 million but gradually the demand of human hair has increased. The annual earning from human hair is also increased from Rs. 150 million rupees to Rs. 330 million. |
